Job Description |
The State House Inn - An Ascend Collection Hotel is currently seeking to fill a Banquet Manager position. No experience is required, night and weekend availability is a must, full time, hourly, entry level, benefits available.
As the banquet manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of each event at the hotel from both the hotel’s and customer’s standards.
- Attend all scheduled events start to finish
- Host food tasting for groups and brides
- Meet with the brides and meeting planners before the events
- Oversee and participate if needed in the set up and clean up of the events
- Schedule the appropriate staff for the events
- Attend the upcoming banquet meeting with the management team
- Order rental items for events requiring them
Banquet Manager candidates must have
- At least one year of hotel supervisory experience
- Energetic self motivating personality
- Excellent organizational skills
- Extraordinary client service ability
- Ability to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure
- Ability to lead a team of people
- Ability to prioritize and handle a heavy work load
The banquet manager will work closely with the event managers in organizing the events to the client’s expectations
The banquet manager will be responsible to work weekends, nights and holidays.
The banquet manager may be asked to work long hours of 10 – 12 depending on the event.
The banquet manager must be able to handle light lifting of 30 to 50 pounds.
The banquet manager MUST be able to work well in a team environment, as well as ALWAYS keep a professional and pleasant deposition with our clientele and staff.
The banquet manager will promote an atmosphere of mutual respect with the management team and staff.
The banquet manager will adhere and support all policy and producers outlined in the handbook.

Full service event venue seeking a full time banquet sales manager. This candidate will prospect new clients, maintain current clientele and promote all aspects of banquet sales.
Experience in the hospitality arena is a plus, however sales experience, organizational skills and a positive, outgoing attitude is a requirement.
