As your professional society, ISAE provides you with various benefits and services to help you professionally as well as personally. Both you and your organization will benefit when you take advantage of the educational programs, networking opportunities and idea exchanges that have made ISAE the vital organization it is today. Here are some of the services and resources you have the opportunity to take advantage of as a member of ISAE:
ISAE membership meetings feature expert speakers on topics of interest to the association industry and also provide opportunities to network with peers or clients. Typically, luncheon meetings are held on the fourth Monday in February, March, April, May, June or July (whichever is opposite of Summer Session), September, October and November. No meeting is held in January, August, or December. Luncheon meetings begin at 11:30 a.m. and adjourn by 1:30 p.m.
Throughout the year, ISAE provides its membership with educational seminars for career enhancement. These seminars assist members in earning or maintaining the CAE designation.
CEO and Staff Roundtables
Roundtables are peer-group sessions that offer in-depth discussions on a variety of topics and are tailored for the diverse needs of the ISAE membership. They provide members a chance to share and learn from one another. Roundtables are available for CEOs, Meeting Planners, Office Managers, Communication Managers and Human Relation/Personnel Managers. Most topics also pertain to our Associate Members.
This event, an organized familiarization trip to different areas of the state, is held each summer and has featured various formats.
The Annual Convention is the biggest event of the year. This event combines education and networking with the opportunity for suppliers to showcase their products and services.
The Executive Edition, ISAE's newsletter, is published six times a year. The newsletter is an important tool to keep members apprised of the organization's activities, legislative issues, industry trends and recognizes individual and association efforts. It also offers advertising opportunities for suppliers of products and services that benefit the association market. Members are encouraged to share their expertise with colleagues by submitting articles on various topics of interest. Beginning in January 2011, the newsletter will no longer be mailed to members. Instead, each member will receive a link by email to access the newsletter on the website. Click here to read current and past issues.
The ISAE Membership Directory, an important resource tool, is published once a year at the conclusion of the yearly membership drive and is posted within ISAE's Membership Portal. The directory contains tons of useful information that you will find to be an invaluable resource. It includes a listing of all members, the associations and businesses they represent, a listing of ISAE board members, committee chairs and a copy of the bylaws. Advertising space is available.
ISAE publishes a premier Illinois Legislative Directory in the spring of every odd-numbered year. This directory includes names and addresses of the Governor's staff, as well as the state legislature and their staff. This very valuable tool is available to both members and non-members. The directory is printed every other year and copies are available through the ISAE office.
CAE Study Group
ISAE provides study groups and special assistance to those who decide to test for the Certified Association Executive designation. Association executives study and learn together and all sessions are facilitated by current CAEs. If you are interested in learning more about this designation, applications are available through the ISAE office.
ISAE's Web Site
ISAE's interactive Web site provides quick access to information on meetings, activities and services. A calendar of events, career center, registration forms, discussion forms and hot links to a variety of other locations are available to ISAE members. The Web site also provides advertising opportunities for suppliers of products and services that benefit the association market.
